Dit is 'n geseënde gebruik dat gemeentes elke jaar, en dan spesifiek iewers in die begin van die jaar, 'n reeks gebedsgeleenthede hou. Sommiges hou net enkele gebedsgeleenthede, ander sit 'n hele week se aande daarvoor opsy.

Week of Prayer 2012 The annual arrangement of prayer meetings, especially at the beginning of each year, is a blessed tradition in the DRC Family. Some congregations only have prayer meetings on one or two evenings, others set aside a whole week for this.

Belhar Confession-Celebrating a quarter of a century
The Uniting Reformed Church in Southern Africa, regard ourselves, in all humility, as profoundly blessed by God. This blessing came in the form of God, calling God's Church to be God's witness at a particular difficult time in the history of South Africa. From 25- 26 September 2011 we (The General Synod Celebration) will celebrate, together with those Churches abroad and in South Africa, who have accepted Belhar as a Confession, this Gift of God to us.

General Synodical Commission meets in Bellville
The General Synodical Commission of the URCSA is meeting at the moment at URC Bellville Congregation, Cape Town. Representatives of all the Regional Synods and the General Synod executive have started with their activities on Thursday 22 September 2011 and it will end on Monday 26 September 2011. The meeting will deal with the reports of the Regional Synods and of the Ministries of the General Synod. Some of the issues that are to be discussed are the Unity between the DRC, DRCA and RCA and how it is affecting the relationship with URCSA, DRC Cape Synod decision to adopt Belhar Confession and issues regarding church buildings. The meeting will also finalised the arrangements for the General Synod of URCSA taken place in Windhoek September 2012. On Sunday 25 September members of the GSC will visit congregations in and around Cape Town and some will preach and others will bring greetings. The meeting will form part of the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the Belhar Confession.
